Like I get that Penny deserved consequences but Trudy and everyone were so out of line here. She locked Penny out of the house at night, and from what I’ve heard, young black girls are most prone to being kidnapped or victims of trafficking. She yelled at Oscar when he tried to offer a (bad but still something) solution as if she wanted Penny to be taken away from her. Then Sugar Mama made her sleep in a dog bed and made her do slave labor and didn’t even let her eat. Making her do chores and go for jogs isn’t a bad punishment but not when it’s to the point of slave labor. Also she threatens to beat Penny with Puff’s leash at one point. So the whole “I’m only doing this because I love you” excuse is just something that justifies bad parenting. A better way to write this episode is just having her go to Sugar Mama’s and having her do some chores, but not to the point of slave labor. Still have the jogs and have Sugar Mama get hurt, but it’ll still teach Penny a lesson without being abusive.

I think it was this show and this scene that made Nightcrawler my second favourite X-Man, number one being Storm. He is so infectiously likeable and adorable. I just want to give him a hug. 🥰

What makes this episode worse is how Suga Mama treated Penny in the episode, which is so OOC considering Suga Mama is usually the nicest to Penny in the original series.

Except with the timeline, she would have been at the oldest 14 and he well into his 40s. So Magneto is a pedo.
